The Jewish Institute of Queens provides a dynamic, comprehensive learning environment that prepares students for success in an increasingly complex world. We provide a rigorous education designed to address the diverse intellectual, physical, social, and emotional needs of each child.
Our Judaic Studies Program, our dedicated and experienced staff understands the needs of Jewish families. We offer our students the opportunity to learn about their Jewish heritage and immerse themselves in Jewish culture. The students build fluency in Hebrew reading and writing while studying traditional Jewish subjects, including Chumash, Mishna, History, and Jewish laws and customs. The Torah’s moral values are imbued in each student. Every child’s Jewish identity is a precious commodity that requires vigilant care and attention to flourish.
Our Secular Studies division provides an active, versatile learning environment that prepares students for life in a challenging world. We provide a high-quality education that meets each child’s varied intellectual, physical, social, and emotional needs. Every child’s ability, talents, and desire for knowledge should be nurtured throughout the ongoing educational process.
Our curriculum has been developed to align with grade-level expectations outlined in the New York State Next Generation Standards and assessments. We believe in educating our students through a balanced literacy approach that enables them to learn at their own pace.
Our program offers small classes and an enriched curriculum in language arts, math, science, and social studies. We also offer specialty programs, including computer science, art, science lab, and physical education, to our students. Our teachers are certified by the New York State Department of Education and have several years of experience.
Our approach to learning is hands-on, promoting critical thinking and communication skills.
